From the President's Desk

  • GPSO and the Fossil Fuel Divestment Initiative have received a response from the IU Foundation Investment Committee, following our meeting with them in December. The Investment Committee is unwilling to consider divestment as it is only “symbolic” and considers the case closed. GPSO and Reinvest IU will continue to bring support and advocate for divestment by gathering more support from faculty and alumni bodies moving forward. If you would like more information or are interested in helping in these efforts, please contact Andrew Bredeson at gpsosus@indiana.edu
  • Tuesday the Bloomington Faculty Council met and discussed the AAUP (American Assoc. of Univ. Professors) Centennial Declaration and heard from the IU Governmental Affairs Office. Vice President Mike Sample gave an overview of current bills in the state legislature that affect Indiana University.
